Hi, I'm Iolana!
About Iolana
Iolana joined the sanctuary in January, 2019, after the closure of Big Island Dairy was announced. The destiny of the 2600 dairy cows at the farm was looking grim, most of them were facing slaughter.
When Hawaii Lava Flow Animal Rescues Network (HLFARN) were able to raise funds to rescue a number of cows and calves from slaughter, we agreed to offer five of them a home at the sanctuary.
Iolana was the only calf who wasn't afraid of people when she was rescued. She has a mild temperament and always happily greats visitor with big cow kisses!
